Hugo Benalcazar, M.D.
Dr. Hugo Benalcazar grew up in Harford County graduating from The John Carroll High School and the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Neurosurgery at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL. As a board certified neurosurgeon, and fellow of both the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons, he has successfully removed intracranial tumors and pituitary tumors and specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery including problems of the neck and back, carpal tunnel, and ulnar nerve entrapment problems of the elbow. He is a nationally recognized innovator and teacher for Medtronic Corporation in the diagnosis and treatment of Sacroiliac joint dysfunction, a common but frequently undiagnosed cause of low back pain.
